Issues with Previous Versions

Note-ED Version 2.10 and earlier with Microsoft Office 2007 Service Pack 2

Microsoft released this service pack in June 2009 and it can be installed automatically if you have enabled automatic Windows updates. Microsoft's modification to Word, which is used for spell-checking and to save documents in Word format, causes a problem with Note-ED.

Symptoms

On saving a document, Word opens and a Save As dialog is displayed asking if you want to save in .docx format.

If you are in full-screen mode, Note-ED appears to freeze, switch to Word, by pressing Alt+Tab.

Workaround

Click on OK to save the document. If the form appears again, select cancel. Do not close Word. Carry on using Note-Ed normally.

Permanent Fix

Uninstall your version of Note-ED and download and install the latest version of Note-ED. This version also supports the latest Word 2007 format (.docx) as well as the traditional Word format (.doc).
